My mom was unwell, so dad was taking her to there. No auto driver agreed to go. Finally, one stopped but wanted higher fare. My dad first argued, but later backed off.” Now, we have all had minor arguments with drivers at one point in our life. Btu this one spiraled down. The actress further added, “But this guy hit my dad on the head with a rock, then punched and kicked him. My mom stopped a car and took him to hospital.”

While Sumona’s father was being treated, Mumbai police acted immediately and took witnesses’ statements and lodged a complaint. They nabbed the attacker soon, who has been identified as 25 year-old Amit Gupta. ALSO READ: Shocking! “Gupta was booked under Sections 324 (assault), 337 (causing hurt), 506 (criminal intimidation), and sections of the Motor Vehicle Act. He was later released on bail of Rs 5,000,” said Senior inspector Anil Pophale of Powai police station.

Something has to be done about the aggression that the auto drivers or can drivers show to the public. Mallika, Sumona’s father are just two of the many many examples? When will government and police do something substantial to curb the dadagiri of taxi/rickshaw drivers?
